What makes you an expert on Thailand? Why should I trust you?

I lived in Thailand for 6 straight years at the time of this writing. Before that, I was travelling to Thailand as a tourist and have been to Thailand on and off since 1979 (over 40 years). I can speak two Thai dialects, which gave me a deeper understanding of the country as a tourist and as a local. Since I am a Thai person myself, I have a deeper understanding of Thailand and its culture.

You’re getting a perspective from someone who happens to be a Thai, with over 40 years of experience living and travelling around South East Asia. Places I lived in Thailand for more than 3 months include Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Uttaradit, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Ubon Ratchathani (Isaan). I am not an expat or a backpacker, or someone who stays for a few months and has to leave. I can stay, work and live in Thailand as long as I want.
